If you’re considering becoming a foster parent, one of the first questions you might ask is about foster care allowances. At Family Fostering Partners, we know how important it is to understand the financial support available when caring for a child or young person. Let’s break down how fostering allowances work and if any changes might come with the new financial year.
Foster Care allowances are payments made to foster parents to help cover the costs of looking after a child. These payments are designed to ensure that a child’s needs- such as food, clothing, hobbies, and educational resources -are met without placing a financial pressure on the foster parent. Within these payments, foster parents also receive an allowance to use for birthdays, holidays and clothing.
At Family Fostering Partners, we provide a generous allowance to our foster parents, with many of our foster parents choosing to commit to fostering as their full-time role.
