As part of our aim to increase the number of foster carers across South Wales we are excited to announce that we have teamed up with Rhondda Radio to spread the word about fostering and how to become a foster carer. Our elephant mascot Blue will be on the airwaves every day this week encouraging more amazing people to offer safe and loving homes to children in Rhondda.
This year Fostering Network’s estimates Wales still needs an extra 550 foster families. This means that there is a significant need for carers in Rhondda as well as across the whole of the country. We have plenty of information on our website on how to become a foster carer and information on common myths that still exists about who can foster.
It doesn’t matter whether you are single, married, gay, straight, living in your own home or in rented accommodation. Children are all unique and consequently we need foster carers from all walks of life to open their hearts and their home to a child.
If you would like to listen to Rhondda Radio and to also get the chance to hear our latest campaign, you can do so from anywhere by following this link https://tunein.com/radio/Rhondda-Radio-s131347/.
