Join us on the scariest day of the year, to have all your fears about fostering put to rest, in our third annual Fostering Workshop Event.
Family Fostering Partners is ranked and a leading, Tier 1, foster care agency on the All Wales Fostering Framework and we train and recruit and support foster parents across the whole of South Wales to care for vulnerable children of all ages.
To celebrate our move to a new and larger office, with the creation of new, local jobs, Family Fostering Partners will be hosting an Open Day on October the 31st 2019. The open day, which starts at 10.30 and goes on until 3.00pm, will include activities and workshops on different aspects of foster care and lots of advise and guidance on how to become a foster parent. There will be staff at hand to help answer any questions that participants may have, for example how the process of becoming a registered foster parent works or how we matched children with their foster parents.
According to the latest figures by the charity Fostering Network an additional 550 foster families are needed in Wales alone, this means that Family Fostering Partners are always looking for more families and individuals to become foster parents. You don’t need any specific qualifications to be able to foster. All you need is a spare bedroom and the willingness to learn and work to improve the lives of local children.
Managing Director Judith Rees said:
As an agency one of the most important things we try and do is to raise awareness of fostering by working with the communities in which we live and deliver our services. This involves attending events around Wales such as the Eisteddfod, and local agricultural shows in addition to opening our office doors to talk to as many people as possible about the amazing work that foster parents do to change the lives of children for the better.
It takes a special kind of person to open their homes and their hearts to children who need stability and love. It is a real pleasure to have the opportunity to speak to families who are interested in helping us do this and who are willing to take on fostering as a transformational career.
Why not use this years’ Halloween to learn more about fostering and to dispel some of the myths and misconceptions that scare people from taking the first step. Anyone can foster regardless of your gender, marital status or sexual orientation and speaking with us will leave you much less frightened of what fostering entails.
We can help you decide and to be fully prepared to make fostering your future.
The event is open to anyone who wishes to attend and tickets can be booked by phoning Family Fostering Partners’ on 03300 948816 or emailing email@example.com.
Anyone who wishes to attend in full Halloween costume will not be turned away!
