At Family Fostering Partners, we believe every child deserves to feel safe and valued, especially during the Christmas period. That’s why our commitment to recruiting and supporting foster parents continues year-round, ensuring that our fostering families are able to support children most in need. 100’s of young people across Wales are without a stable or secure home, and it is our mission, with the help of our foster parents, to provide loving and stabile homes to children across Wales.
Family Fostering Partners is an Independent Fostering Agency dedicated to caring and supporting children and young people, as well as their fostering families. We work closely with local authorities to match children with nurturing foster parents, providing comprehensive training and ongoing support to ensure they can offer the best possible care. Our mission is simple: to create safe, nurturing environments where children can thrive and feel valued, whilst keeping children at the heart of everything that we do. Every family that joins us is integral to our mission, which feels increasingly important during the Christmas season.
We understand that the fostering journey, like any parenting journey, can bring incredible rewards, but it can also come with its challenges. At Family Fostering Partners, we provide ongoing support to all of our fostering families from the moment they begin the fostering process. This includes tailor-made training , continuous support from a dedicated Link Worker, and a strong community network of peer support. In addition, all of our foster parents receive fully paid membership to Foster Talk , offering free legal and medical advice, as well as discounts that come in handy for Christmas shopping!
Our 24/7 on-call support system is also available to our foster parents- our team are able to offer advice and guidance no matter the time day or night… even on Christmas Day! We are committed to making sure our foster families have the resources and support they need to feel confident in their role, during the festive season and beyond.
At Family Fostering Partners, we embrace the holiday spirit! Whether it’s through Christmas events with our fostering families or our annual donations to local foodbanks. At FFP, we love getting into the Christmas spirit, and we invite you to follow along on our social media channels to see how we’re celebrating this year!
Despite the celebrations, the need for foster parents in Wales remains critical, particularly during the holidays. There is no better time than Christmas to explore the idea of becoming a foster parent.
For many families, Christmas is a time for togetherness and reflection. It can also be the perfect opportunity to discuss fostering with your loved ones. Nat, one of our foster parents, shared how the Christmas season inspired her to foster:
““I was inspired to pursue fostering after we moved into our new house, and it was the first morning that we walked down the stairs. We've got a big, open living room. I was just like, ‘right, we need to have a Children here for Christmas. We need too! Just to have the fun and excitement!’. So that's what we did, just to just for the joy and happiness. Being a foster parent means everything to me!”
Our "Be There to Care" scheme is designed to provide financial support for new foster parents transitioning from other employment into fostering. The program offers weekly payments for up to 10 weeks, allowing foster parents to be fully available and ready to care for a child. This initiative is unique and bespoke to Family Fostering Partners and ensures that financial concerns do not prevent anyone from opening their heart and home to a child in need.
If you’re curious about fostering, we’re here to help. Our team is always available to answer your questions, and we offer a convenient 'Book a Call' service, allowing you to schedule a time that works best for you.
