“Be There To Care” a financial incentive scheme to help more people become Foster Parents.

One of the key challenges, and something that prevents many people from becoming foster parents is the requirement that one adult in the household is available full time to commit to the demands of looking after a child or sibling group. Understandably, many families are worried about giving up work, and the security of a regular paycheck, to be on hand to offer care and to juggle meetings and training. To alleviate this burden, we have launched a new transition payment scheme aimed at ensuring that more people can offer safe and loving foster homes.

What is the ‘Be There To Care’ Scheme?

The “Be There To Care” scheme is designed to assist foster parents during the period prior to undertaking their first child placement. Foster Parents will receive a weekly payment, for a duration of up to 10 weeks, which means that Family Fostering Partners will help cover your living expenses to ensure their availability to accept a matched foster placement and to facilitate any costs associated with the fostering process.

“This is a ‘first of its kind scheme’, and we are hoping that our offer to support future foster parents financially will make the decision to become a foster parent less daunting and instil faith in applicants that they are with an agency that really cares,” Judith the Managing Director explains. “We currently provide a generous fostering allowance as well as full support and training to carers throughout their entire application and placement length – short or long-term. So, if you decide to become an approved foster carer, with Family Fostering Partners, be assured you are not on your own. You will have all the support, training, and guidance necessary to make fostering a success”.
